The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a plan of action for people, the planet and prosperity, which also aims to strengthen universal peace and access to justice.
The Agenda sets 17 Goals with 169 integrated and indivisible targets that cover the economic, social and environmental spheres. By adopting it, organizations commit to mobilizing the necessary means for its implementation through alliances focused especially on the needs of the poorest and most vulnerable.
At ICSEM, we help to implement the 2030 Agenda in organizations as well as to disseminate communication activities and develop transformative campaigns that generate knowledge and involvement of society with the impulse of the 2030 Agenda.
Projects
Strategy for Implementing the 2030 Agenda (Tomiño, A Guarda, Nigrán, As Pontes, Outes, Viveiro, Guitiriz, and Verín)
Over two years, within a project driven by the Fondo Galego de Cooperación y Solidaridad and financed by the Xunta de Galicia, we have worked with 8 municipalities in Galicia (Tomiño, A Guarda, Nigrán, As Pontes, Outes, Viveiro, Guitiriz, and Verín). After analysing the current situation of each municipality in relation to the fulfilment of the Agenda, we proposed an Action Plan with specific actions and goals for each of the SDGs to implement this agenda and promote sustainable development at the local level.
Training within the project “Promotion of strategies for institutional strengthening and local governance in the municipalities of Mozambique and Cape Verde”
Within the project “Promotion of strategies for institutional strengthening and local governance in the municipalities of Mozambique and Cape Verde”, implemented by the Fondo Andaluz de Municipios para la Solidaridad Internacional (FAMSI) in collaboration with the National Association of Municipalities of Mozambique (ANAMM) and financed by the Andalusian Agency for International Cooperation for Development, ICSEM has developed an online training course aimed at local governments in Mozambique and Cape Verde and their networks. The objective is to address the challenge of localising the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the 2030 Agenda, and local development policies.
